U.S. carriers U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless are also to offer Samsung Galaxy S4 following AT&T. U.S. Cellular has already announced arrival of the device on the network. The carrier will begin to accept pre-orders for the gadget from 4th April. As well, the device will land on Verizon’s high-speed LTE network. It looks that the device will utilize the carrier’s 700MHz and AWS frequencies. Plus, the handset for Verizon will also tout a 3G radio so that it is usable outside the U.S. too.
As you may know, the U.S. is to get the Snapdragon 600 alternative of the device with an Exynos 5 Octa chip. It is not clear when the CDMA version of the phone will be available in the country. Anyway, it appears that the new handset from Samsung will make a huge impact in the U.S. mobile market. It is likely to become the most popular phone there this year. Its predecessor the Galaxy S3 could turn around the mobile market with huge sales, which could even beat Apple iPhone 5 late last year.
Galaxy S4 is to become a tough rival to the next iPhone and the whole new line of FullHD Android phablets. It is sure that the new phone from Sammy will mainly compete with its Android rivals. The
devices like Sony’s Xperia Z, LG’s Optimus G Pro, HTC’s One and Droid DNA and a set of other FHD phones are to face critical threat from this simply superb phone. Samsung has really introduced it as a mammoth rival in the new smartphone market.
It is actually a spring for smartphones. All key tech makers and software developers have something new right now. Microsoft has its Windows Phone 8 and Nokia-made Lumia 920, one of the world’s most innovative smartphones with wireless charging option and a stunning camera. Google has two great Android versions – the 4.1 and 4.2 Jelly Bean – other than the projected Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie for the year.
Furthermore, all major Android product developers including Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG, Huawei, ZTE and many other firms have super quality Full HD devices. BlackBerry has just unveiled its new software, BlackBerry 10 and two compatible devices; the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10. In short, the market is rich with too many quality handsets, which is mentioned in a RedmondPie article this way, “included in the line-up is the iPhone 5, Samsung’s current and upcoming Galaxy S4 and the current Galaxy S III, Sony’s waterproof Xperia Z, the HTC One, and Nokia’s Lumia 920.”
Two devices that, as per some analysts, might seriously defy Galaxy S4 are HTC and Sony’s flagships, respectively the Xperia Z and One. The first one is celebrated for its water and dust proof capabilities apart from its FullHD screen, quad core processor and more. In case of the One, it is a stunningly looking handset with an innovative 4MP UltraPixel rear camera and more. The Xperia Z, thanks to Sony’s forte in camera making, also have a brilliant camera.
It is Samsung’s much-admired strategy to avail its flagships on all key carriers. Earlier, the firm used to distribute various models of a single phone through different carriers. Take the example of Galaxy S2. After that version, the company has been selling the same and exact model of a device through all carriers. This year, we can surely expect the S4 in the same style and form with all leading carriers in the U.S. and outside. The only change is regarding its processor. The U.S. one has a different processor from the European model.
