Samsung Galaxy S4 to Hit Indian Stores in First Week of May: Report

With Samsung Galaxy S4 being unveiled in US, Indian Galaxy smartphone fans would be eager to know when the South Korean electronics giant would release it in the subcontinent. Now, speculations are rife that the Galaxy S4 may make its India debut in early May.

According to popular technology website Android OS.in, a trusted source close to Samsung India has revealed that the company is planning to release Galaxy S4 in India as early as first week of May.
Bloomberg has also confirmed that Galaxy S4 will go on sale in the USA, Hong Kong and South Korea simultaneously on 26 April and later in 155 countries through 327 network carriers by early May.
Even though there is no mention of India in the list, the other 155 countries which are expecting Galaxy S4 shipments in May is most likely to include the subcontinent as Samsung holds the top position in the burgeoning Indian smartphone market and to further strengthen the lead, company is expected to
release Galaxy S4 as early as possible.
According to international market research firm IDC (International Data Corporation), Indian smartphone market is one of the fastest growing markets in the world and it is expected to become the third biggest smartphone market by 2017, only lower than its neighbour China and USA.
Smartphone business in developed countries such as US, Europe are becoming saturated as the smartphone penetration has reached its peak, while developing countries like India, China, Brazil and emerging countries of Africa still holds scope for further penetration into the next decade.
