Samsung Galaxy S4 Goes On Sale in East Africa At Safaricom, Broken Screens Under Warranty

Safaricom on Monday became the first retailer in East Africa to launch the Samsung Galaxy S4. This was at an event held at the firms Kimathi Street retail outlet, where the firm also handed out the device to customers who had made the pre-order. Customers who made pre-orders were able to acquire the device at KSh. 58,000, a Ksh. 7,000 discount from Safaricom's current offer of KSh. 65,000.
The phone had a pre-order period, the first in East Africa, that saw 70 customers make pre-orders.
The Galaxy S4 is Samsung's flagship device, succeeding the Galaxy SIII, with a larger screen but a slimmer body.
Accident damage and handling (ADH) protection will see those buying the phone get it repaired at no cost if they shatter their screen or immerse it in fluid. ADH is redeemable twice in a 24 month period.
Other features on the phone include ability to shoot images from both front and back cameras and merge the two, record sound alongside a photo and advanced image editing features which allow you to remove unwanted people or objects that get into the way of an image.
Gestures on the phones allow users to perform various tasks by hovering their fingers or hands above the screen, which comes in handy when fingers are wet, dirty or during eating. The phone can also be used as a remote for a number of Samsung TV models.
