Samsung Galaxy S4 to be launched in India this week?
NEW DELHI, INDIA: The much awaited Samsung Galaxy S4, as rumors and unconfirmed reports had suggested, will most likely be launched in India this week. A report on FoneArena says that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to be launched in India on April 26, as it is being launched in several countries from April 26 to 27.
Apart from media reports, a message posted yesterday on the Samsung Mobile India Facebook page, seems to confirm the fact that Galaxy S4 will indeed be launched in India soon. ''S4 Obsession is taking over the world! Are you ready?'' says the message. Also, Samsung Galaxy S4 has been on a World Tour from April 16.
The smartphone is being expected to be priced around Rs. 45,000 in India. When we asked CIOL readers about what they think should be the price of the Galaxy S4, here's what they had to say:
''It might be launched around 40k but should gradually come down to 35k in 2-3 months. That would be a perfect time to buy this smartphone,'' says Harsh.
''Logically store prices should be around 38-40000 with MRP of 45k. Anything more than that there will be few takers in price sensitive country like ours,'' says Arjun.
And, ''I wouldn't pay even a dime more than 40k. I'd rather choose the HTC one then,'' says Arth.
However, what do you have to say? Is Rs. 40,000 the apt price tag for the Samsung Galaxy S4? Or will you be willing to shell-out more for it? Do let us know.
The specs and features of the Galaxy S4 are as follows: 5-inch screen with Super AMOLED display (441ppi), 1.9GHz quad-core processor/1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and 2,600mAh battery.
Some of the features that are unique to Samsung Galaxy S4 are Air View (allows users to preview videos by hovering their finger over the screen), Eye-scroll (by observing the movement of the users eyes, the Galaxy S4 automatically pauses and plays videos), WatchON, Optical Reader, Dual Shot (both cameras are functional at the same time), and Group Play.
