Samsung Galaxy S4 to Cost $600?

Samsung Galaxy S4 set heart-beats racing and hands itching with their new flagship device: the Samsung Galaxy S4. While the mobile maker elaborated on the features of the new phone in detail, they conveniently left aside one of the most important aspects: the price. However, in what could be an erroneous slip, Samsung has revealed the price of the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be approximately priced at 600 dollars. On the global Samsung website, there's a contest underway and the Samsung Galaxy S4 is up for grabs. At the time of writing this post, the website lists the approximate value of the phone to be $579! This price is still tentative and might be without taxes. So be set to shell out well over 600$ for your next Galaxy flagship. While we still can't say what the exact price will be, we are pretty sure it is nowhere less than 579$.
And before you get excited, the price is for the most basic variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4, the 16 GB variant. So all we know for now is that the phone's price will begin at approximately 600$.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is all set to be shipped in the UK from 26th April onwards.

While the phone for sure is expensive, it is still cheaper than iPhone 5, Samsung's main competitor. The Apple iPhone 5 costs $649 without the SIM card. With barely a difference of 50 dollars, we don't think it will matter much to smart-phone enthusiasts. HTC, Samsung's other staunch competitor is yet to announce the price of the HTC One in US.

While the lid has been lifted off the price of Samsung Galaxy S4 in States, we are still not sure if the device will be priced similarly in India. Considering both the iPhone 5 and HTC Butterfly (HTC One is yet to be announced here) cost well over Rs 40k, we do not see why the Samsung S4 will come cheaper. However, Samsung is a strong marketeer and might price the phone in the less than 40k price-bracket just to give it that edge over competitors. However, judging the response the phone has received, we do not really see the need for that edge.

Speculations will definitely be on but all we can do is hope that Samsung themselves soon spill the beans. Also, Samsung has been partial to India in the past and we hope they are partial this time too and we get to see the S4 here by April end. Fingers Crossed..!
