Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. HTC One: 5 Things to Know

In just a few days, the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4 will finally arrive in the United States and go head to head as the two most recognizable Android devices of the year. Like most smartphones, they are chock full of features including large displays, speedy processors, and more. But what are the biggest differences that consumers should keep in mind before taking the plunge? Here are the five most important things to know about the impending match up between the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One.
Last year, the HTC One X arrived during the month of February as the company’s latest and greatest flagship smartphone. The device, which boasted a large HD display and fantastic camera, hit AT&T’s 4G LTE network and remained one of the best Android options throughout the course of 2012. Only, it wasn’t the only fantastic smartphone on the market.

The HTC One had to do battle with the likes of the iPhone 5, but also, the Samsung Galaxy S3, which arrived a little later in the year. Despite featuring some fantastic hardware and software, the Galaxy S3 took control and went on to not only smash Samsung’s own sales records with over 40 million sold, but it put the Galaxy S series on par with the iPhone, something that had never been accomplished by an Android device.

Samsung’s success with the Galaxy S3, which was helped along not only by features but also a good marketing campaign, put the pressure on HTC which released an HTC One X+ later in the year with more storage and a faster processor. However, the true HTC One X successor and HTC’s true stab at Samsung and Apple did not emerge until earlier this year in the form of the HTC One.

Many consumers will be hard pressed telling the difference between the new model and the Galaxy S III, as the S4 retains a similar look and feel to its predecessor. However, it includes a 4.99in full HD

HTC trolls Samsung Galaxy S4, calls it gimmicky and the Next Big Flop

htc-disses-samsungIt seems that not everyone was left impressed by the lavish unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S4 last Thursday night. Samsung rival HTC took to Twitter to unleash a bit of bants about the slightly bizarre New York event, asking somewhat rhetorically, “How off-Broadway is this production?” accompanied by the hashtag “#theNextBigFlop”.
And it didn’t end there, with HTC CMO Ben Ho claiming that the S4 represented “more of the same”, that it “pales in comparison to the all-aluminum [sic] unibody HTC One” and that HTC customers are a discerning lot that don’t want this kind of “mainstream” phone. How very hipster of you, Mr Ho.
We’ve taken it that little bit further, asking HTC reps in the region what they think of the new Sammy S4.

How Samsung Galaxy S4 Will Compete With Sony PlayStation 4

The mobile market continues to evolve at a rapid rate with new smartphones and tablets being introduced by Apple, Samsung, Acer, Asus, HP, Toshiba, Vizio and other big companies at a brisk (almost monthly) pace. Samsung is the latest big consumer electronics company to one-up the competition with its Galaxy S4.
With the advances in processing power in these mobile devices (and Moore’s Law), mobile devices – and the games being developed for them – are quickly catching up with what current generation consoles can do. In the US, the Galaxy S4 will sport a 1.9 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor that has already been tested by Laptop Mag and put up there

Samsung Galaxy S4 to Cost $600?

Samsung Galaxy S4 set heart-beats racing and hands itching with their new flagship device: the Samsung Galaxy S4. While the mobile maker elaborated on the features of the new phone in detail, they conveniently left aside one of the most important aspects: the price. However, in what could be an erroneous slip, Samsung has revealed the price of the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be approximately priced at 600 dollars. On the global Samsung website, there's a contest underway and the Samsung Galaxy S4 is up for grabs. At the time of writing this post, the website lists the approximate value of the phone to be $579! This price is still tentative and might be without taxes. So be set to shell out well over 600$ for your next Galaxy flagship. While we still can't say what the exact price will be, we are pretty sure it is nowhere less than 579$.

HTC pokes fun at Samsung's Galaxy S4 press event

Companies like HTC and LG have an uphill climb following the Samsung Galaxy S4 announcement. Here's what they must do.
After months of rumors and speculation, and one rather awkward press event, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is now an official smartphone. Indeed, we still have a month or more before it actually arrives, but Samsung has again changed the game for Android.
Or has it? What does the Samsung Galaxy S4 mean for other Android players and how should they react in the wake of the big reveal? As I see it, there are three important lessons to be learned from Samsung and the Galaxy S4.
Go big or go home
Watching last night's press event unfold, I came away with one big takeaway: Samsung will do whatever it can to get people chatting about its smartphones. Sure, I'm certainly not the only one who found the presentation of the Galaxy S4 to be cheesy, goofy, and even painful. But you know what? Everybody is talking about the phone today, right?
When we actually get the S4 in stores, I doubt that few people will even remember the stilted shenanigans. Yet, you can't deny that yesterday Samsung got your attention, for better or for

HTC Lashes Out Against Samsung Galaxy S4

Benjamin Ho, the chief marketing officer for smartphone maker HTC, has slammed Samsung Galaxy S4, saying the new mobile by the Korean electronics giant 'offers nothing new' to its users.

Ho said that with a continuation of a plastic body and a larger screen being the most obvious physical change, Samsung's new Galaxy pales in comparison to the all-aluminium unibody HTC One.

He stressed that HTC remains the best option for those people looking for the best technology wrapped in premium design, the Telegraph reports.

Samsung Galaxy S4 release date in US to fall in Q2 of 2013

A precise Samsung Galaxy S4 release date in US may not have been spelled out, although the company has pledged to start rolling out its latest flagship sometime during the next quarter. Even before the smartphone could hit stores across the country, it has already started receiving the attention of AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and other such stateside carriers.

With little left to imagination, the S4 has emerged true to most of the speculations made concerning its appearance as well as internal components. Remember Eye Pause and Scroll which we had stumbled upon earlier? Well, they have indeed toddled their way into the fourth generation smartphone, except the manufacturer has deemed it fit to replace ‘Eye’ with ‘Smart’.

iPhone 5 Screen Looks Really Unimpressive After Galaxy S4

iPhone 5

Samsung revealed the Samsung Galaxy S4 last night and it comes with numerous innovative software, however it doesn’t do a lot for me.
It comes with eye tracking software… The camera allows you to take a photo with the front and back camera at the same time… Why have these things been included, they aren’t needed, so no thanks, I’ll pass. At the same time the body of the handset doesn’t do it for me either. It is the same as all Samsung handsets, rounded with a plastic look. Even the patterns in the moulding are strange.
